Aims of the Nursery

  • To provide a stimulating and safe environment for the children attending the setting, to develop their self confidence and self esteem.
  • To encourage social skills and give assurance, encouragement and appropriate praise.
  • To introduce children to new experiences and concepts, this can be built on throughout their lives.
  • To work in partnership with parents.
  • To ensure staff are suitably qualified to provide learning experiences for all the children.
  • Learning which is structured, balanced, relevant to the child and related to the real world.
  • To provide a curriculum which takes account of, and responds to the children’s developmental needs and allows them to make good progress related to their differing abilities.
  • All the children are treated as individuals and will be encouraged to participate in the activities but no child will be forced to do anything that he or she is not ready for.
  •  Add to the life and well-being of the local community.
  • Offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.
  • To assist children’s transition to school.
  • And above all else, to ensure that the children are happy, have fun and are cared for and supported.
